Potbelly’s mission is to make people really, really happy. So, we combined data and genuine happiness to feed smiles across the web.
Sad People, Happy Songs
We started by identifying 100 sad tweets and had Potbelly improv musicians respond with 100 happy songs. All in real-time.
The Smile Scale
Then, we created the Smile Scale, an algorithm that collected data on things like weather, sporting events, social media mentions and traffic to rate a city’s happiness. We used this to serve up contextual stills and animations to Potbelly’s largest markets.
